UMBC baseball freshman Christian Torres (Miami, Fla./Miami Senior) was named America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This is the second straight week Torres has earned the award, as he helped UMBC to a pair of win against UMass Lowell this past weekend.

UMBC baseball continued their winning ways, with a 10-2 win against Georgetown on Wednesday night. AJ Wright (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) and Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) each drove in three runs in the victory.

The UMBC baseball team looks to continue their conference success at Albany this weekend for a three-game series. The Retrievers extended their win streak to three with a 10-2 victory as Georgetown on Wednesday to kick off their ten game road trip.

The UMBC baseball team continued its end of the month hot streak, taking both games of a double-header, 15-8 and 5-2, respectively, over Albany (14-22, 3-11 America East) on Saturday afternoon.

UMBC baseball dropped the final game of their three game series against Albany on Sunday, 10-2. The Retrievers produced nine hits, but had five errors leading to ten Great Dane runs.

UMBC baseball will head to Annapolis for a mid-week clash with Navy on Tuesday afternoon after taking two of three from Albany this past weekend. UMBC is 3-1 to start their ten game road swing, taking down Georgetown last Wednesday.

The Retrievers got a solid start from Jacob Christian (Nokesville, Va./Patriot to win their sixth of their last seven, 10-1 against Navy on Tuesday. A trio of Retrievers drove in two runs, as Collin Stack (Jamestown, N.Y./Monroe CC) led the way with four hits, going 4-5 from the plate.

UMBC baseball will continue their ten game road trip this weekend when they travel to Maine to take on the Black Bears in what will be their final road conference games this season.

UMBC baseball vs. Maine scheduled for today has been canceled due to rain in the Orono area. The team were originally scheduled to play two games today, but will instead play two games tomorrow, Sunday May 7 starting at noon.

UMBC baseball split their double header with the Black Bears on Sunday, falling 10-7 in game one before coming back to take game two 9-6. The Retrievers remain in second place after the split on Sunday.

UMBC baseball opens up a back-to-back-to-back against Maryland on Tuesday afternoon in College Park. The Retrievers will play the Terrapins and travel to Towson in their final two road contests of the year before coming home to host Coppin State on Thursday.

UMBC baseball fell to in-state rival Maryland, 6-2 on Tuesday afternoon in College Park. The Retrievers fell behind early, but got a two-run home run from Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) to take the lead. However the Terps scored four in the sixth to take the victory.

UMBC baseball dropped their second in a row, 4-2 to Towson on Wednesday. The Retrievers got a big solo home run from freshman Kyle Benjamin (Mechanicsville, Md./Bishop McNamara), the first of his career in the fifth to tie the game. However the Tigers would score three straight to take the game 4-2.

UMBC baseball vs. Coppin State, scheduled for this afternoon has been cancelled due to rain in the Baltimore area. There will be no make up of the game. The Retrievers return to the diamond on Tuesday, May 16 when they host Georgetown at 6 p.m.

UMBC baseball will return to the diamond after a short break due to weather in the Baltimore area last week. The Retrievers last played against Towson on May 10, falling 4-2 to move to 18-21 on the year.

UMBC baseball came from behind to take down the Hoyas, 8-5 on Tuesday night. Senior Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) provided the spark with three hits and four RBI with two of the hits coming as home runs.

UMBC baseball enters the last weekend of the season in a pivotal matchup against Stony Brook, before the team heads up to Lowell, Massachusetts for the America East Tournament. The Retrievers only need to win one game to clinch the second seed in the tournament, but still have a chance to earn the number one overall seed and regular season title.

UMBC baseball dropped both games of their double header against Stony Brook on Friday by scores of 12-5 and 7-1. The losses drop UMBC to third in the conference standings with the finale tomorrow serving as a winner take all game for second place and a first round bye in the tournament.

UMBC had just five hits all game, but got a big one from Collin Stack (Jamestown, N.Y./Monroe CC) in the tenth to take a 2-1 extra inning win on Saturday. The win gives UMBC the two seed in the America East Tournament and a first round bye.
