Former UMBC catcher Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) has signed a pro contract with the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association, an independent baseball league. Dolshun becomes the second Retriever to sign a pro contract in the past month, joining Michael Austin who is in the Kansas City Royals organization playing for the AZL Royals.

Both Bowen and Mumma will enter their seventh seasons in the dugout at UMBC, coming off a year that saw the Retrievers win their first America East Championship in program history.

The Retrievers will play 27 games at home, starting with a three-day tournament against Mount St. Mary’s and Hofstra.
